CONAN AND WIFE ANNOUNCE BIRTH OF DAUGHTER

NEW YORK, Oct 15, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- "Late Night" television host Conan O'Brien and his wife, Liza Powel O'Brien, Wednesday announced the birth of their daughter, Neve.

The couple's first child was born in New York City at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday and is a healthy 6-pounds, 10-ounces.

Spokesmen said mother, baby and father are all well and Conan is to return to his show Thursday night.

The TV star, who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 1985, met his wife when she was a guest on "Late Night" in March 2000. They were married at St. James Cathedral in Powell's hometown, Seattle, on Jan. 12, 2002.

The couple lives in Manhattan's well-known West Side apartment building, the Apthorp, whose residents include Rosie O'Donnell, Steve Kroft, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Nelligan and Lena Horn.

Conan is in his 10th year as host of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
