The Conan Experience

My Second Experience

This time was much better than the first. I arrived around 2:00 PM, and was first in line! Some older ladies arrived about 45 seconds after me. I was so happy I got there first. It really helps to know where you’re going.

I ended up sitting in the front row again, but this time more in front of Conan’s desk. It was really hard to see though because my friend and I were right behind the producers’ podium. They stood there the entire time and I had to do some wiggling so I could see.

When Conan came out before the show to talk to the audience, he shook my hand! I was wearing my shirt again, so I grabbed my jacket to open and show him really fast. He saw it and nodded a little, let out a “Oh!”, then went on to shaking more hands.

After he teased some people in the audience and made them hug each other, he looked at me and said, “Are you wearing a Conan O’Brien shirt? I saw you flash me when I first came out.” (I totally appreciated him using the word "flash", too.) So I opened my jacket again to show him and he was like, “What does that say? Conan O’Brien is my homeboy? (insert audience laughter and a Conan chuckle) That’s nice. It’s much nicer than the crap they sell downstairs. Who bought a shirt from downstairs? (insert 2 or 3 cheering people and Conan making fun of them for wasting money; then he turns back to me) Did you make that?”

I say yes.

“NOW I’M GOING TO SUE YOU!”

All I could think was, “OMG Conan is having a conversation with me. This is amazing.” It was really awesome.

The taping then went on as usual, and I could not help smiling the entire time. Even when I think about those two minutes we were talking I smile. Definitely one of the best moments of my life so far.
