We get to the studio at about 2:15 and were the 3rd group in line (15 people ahead of us). I thought for sure that I would be in the 3rd or 4th row. I was right about that. Once we got our "audience member" t-shirts they started seating us. The lady was about to put us in the 3rd row when I saw 2 front row seats on each side of the isle. I tell her that there are only 2 people in the group instead of 4. My dad did the same, and we got those front row seats.

I thought that was as good as it got, but once again, I was wrong.

A lady came over and told us the rules of the front row. She said that Conan would most likely talk to us and told us not to grab him or try to start a conversation. That was a disappointment.

Brian [McCann] comes out and does his warm up, asks where everyone's from and explains to us how safe the studio is. Get this, you need a laminated white rectangle with 4 numbers on it to get in! Then he went on to say how we should refrain from yelling “pussy”, and that we shouldn't take pictures (Conan is albino and the flash will burn him). He introduces the band, and they come out and play for a while.

Brian then comes back and brings Conan out! He shakes the people in 1st 2 rows’ hands. Including mine!

Then he starts to dance, right in front of me! His butt was directly in my face (hehe). He was so skinny, but actually looked as if he had gained a bit of weight since last year, believe it or not.

Then he goes and dances with a guy. He walks back down to the 1st row, looks at my dad and says, "You're not making eye contact with me. Do I scare you?". He gets up in my dad’s face (about 3 inches from him), starts making faces, and going, "Is this scary? How about this?" I was pretty jealous at that point.

Here's the best part:

He turns around to me.
"Well, looky here."
"Hi, Conan"
"How are you?"
"I’m..."
"rrowwwl.... rrowwwl"

2 OF THEM! I didn't know how to respond so I just clawed back at him. Then I'm pretty sure he realized that I wasn't 18, and he goes, "I think I've got more chemistry with the "Steelers" guy (the one he danced with earlier) back here", to cover. He goes up to the guy and gives him a hug. The guy picks Conan about 2 feet off the ground. Conan's clothes got all ruffled and he looked shocked after that. I've come to the conclusion that he was a bit taken aback by that, so instead of having the guy go hug Max like he usually would, he came back to my dad.

He told my dad to go hug Max. So, he did, and Max gave him his drumsticks. My dad goes "You're the man, Max. Keep doing what you're doing," and then just stands there. Conan turns around and says something along the lines of "What, are you expecting more instruments? I suppose you want LaBamba's trombone now".

That's when the show started. Val Kilmer and Gabrielle Union were the guests.

During the breaks when the band played, Conan would sit at his desk meeting with Jeff [Ross], and occasionally the make-up artist would come out and retouch Conan. He really does look scary with all of the foundation he wears. After the show he sang the "End of the Show" song and we were herded out.
