COB.net Forum Administrators and Moderators

COB.net Forum Administrators create/revise rules and appoint moderators to supervise the community. Administrators’ screen names appear in green or light blue. COB.net Forum Moderators are responsible for monitoring forums and discussions for violations of our community guidelines (i.e., spam, personal attacks, etc). Moderators’ screen names appear in red or blue. Click here to view the members of the moderating team. If you feel that a member or a post does not comply with the guidelines set forth here, please feel free to notify the moderator assigned to the respective forum and/or if need be an administrator.

Age Limit

It has been made a decision to disallow younger people to join the forums. If you are under the age of 15, or a board member deems you to be too immature to participate in discussions, board staff or COB.net staff has the right to suspend your account.

COB.net Message Board Rules

1. Before posting a new topic, please use the search feature (located at the top of the forum main page) and pay close attention to the forum description to ensure that a similar topic does not already exist.

2. Please make sure the content of your posts is appropriate for the topics you post within.

3. Please do not have a public dispute in any thread with another forum member. That's what PMs (private messages) are for.

4. Do not make a personal attack on any forum member.

5. Do not post spam (i.e. advertisements for commercial or charitable products or services) in any forum.

6. When posting a picture, keep it to a reasonable size. (Tip: If it stretches the page horizontally, it's probably too large.) Do not post offensive pictures.

7. Signatures should also be of reasonable size. They should never stretch the page horizontally or contain more than 10 lines of text.

8. The English language wasn't meant to be typed LyK3 D1S so please use actual words and proper grammar when posting.

9. All requests are to be posted in the Requests forum. Keep in mind that someone may not have what you requested. Be patient!

10. If you have a problem with your account, PM an admin and we'll do what we can to help you.

11. If you want a thread that you made deleted, locked, or moved, contact a moderator of that forum or an admin.

12. All concerns about the board and/or Conan-OBrien.net are to be posted in Feedback/Suggestions.

13. If you hate Conan and only joined this board to bash him and his fans, expect to be banned immediately. And I mean your IP address, so don't even try to make another name.

14. Keep all introductions to the sticky introductions thread in the Off Topic forum.

15. If you don't like something, please say so; I'm pretty sure that no matter how stupid the item/situation/whatever, it does not have a preference and therefore cannot be "gay." Just don't say it. Why? Cause I don't like that.

Off topic posts

Off topic posts take two general forms:
1. Posts within a discussion thread that detract from the topic being discussed.
2. Topic-starting posts that are placed in an inappropriate forum. When determining in which forum to place a topic-starting post, pay close attention to the forum description.

We reserve the right to relocate or remove off-topic posts.

Duplicate or Double Posts

Due to occasional server lag, accidental duplicate posts may occur in a single discussion thread. To request that duplicate posts be deleted, contact a moderator of that forum or an admin.

Inappropriate Posts

Personal attacks

Personal attacks on individuals, insults, and "flaming" will not be tolerated and will be removed. You may challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully.

Do not retaliate or respond in any way to a personal attack that you perceive to be directed at yourself or another board member. All too often, when an initial attack is levied, others join the fray and instead of becoming part of the solution, they become part of the problem. If you feel that you have been the recipient of a personal attack, contact a moderator of that forum or an administrator immediately.

Offensive Language/Material

Any posts containing communications, including images, that are knowingly defamatory, inaccurate, obscene, threatening, harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing -- especially those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, color, religious views, national origin, or disability -- will not be tolerated and will be removed. Individuals who do not abide by these rules are subject to having their COB.net forum account permanently deleted.

Commercial Messages

Posts containing promotional messages for commercial or charitable products or services -- including but not limited to Internet sites and advertisements -- will be removed. If you spot an unauthorized commercial post, please notify a moderator of the respective forum.
